Baseball, bands, fireworks and the Thunderbirds . . . sure sounds like summer to me! There are some wonderful shots so far. And what a terrific idea for a theme, Ceci!

1. Buzz - wasp on the window frame - taken (in my bathroom) in 2012 with Kodak DX6490

2. Splash of Running Water - Court of Lions - 1964 - slide taken with Kodak Retina Reflex

The Moors knew that running water is cooling.

3. Meat sizzling - BBQ in RI in 1971 on the 4th. Same camera as above

I know this isn't as good a photo, but it seems so much summer to me that I couldn't resist entering it. Comments and criticism are welcome although there's not much I can do about the ones taken in 1964

Can someone tell me how you all are posting your pics for this thread. I noticed that everyone is uploading the pics and able to add a title. I could not make that work with the upload feature and instead had to embed a link. I think I am missing something and could not find it in the guidelines.

Embedding links is the best way (assuming your photos are hosted somewhere like smugmug). Here are the instructions from the FAQ pages:

Just a reminder that this challenge closes tonight at midnight. I'll do my best to get the winners and comments posted by Friday! My mother fainted and fell yesterday due to an electrolyte imbalance (not good when you've had a broken hip etc.) so not sure about my time for the next couple of days.
