Dales Gorge - Karijini National Park

Hi, Recently spent a few days in the Karijini National Park in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The rock is 'banded iron' which was originally laid down as sediment 2,500 million years ago. Late autumn, winter and early spring are the best times to visit, summer temperatures in the gorges would be well over 50 deg C. Close by, outside of the national park are some of the biggest iron ore mines in the world (Rio Tinto / BHP) so we are lucky to have this area protected.

Nice set!

Blue in sky is bit too saturated....in my view...

Beautiful scenes, well photographed. Like Taz, I found the blue distractingly saturated, but that's an easy fix.

I like the composition in one and two - beautiful images. The colors just pop but would agree that the blue sky is just a wee tad too saturated.

Hi Stumblebum. Cornflake & Eia. Thank you for your feedback, I have toned down the blue a tad as per your comments. Being in the gorge during the middle of the day the lighting was pretty harsh so I had under exposed by 1/2 stop.
