Definitely different. It works very well as an abstract. Can't look at it too long, though, before I need to rest my eyes.
I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

Thanks for commenting, guys. Don's correct--the original shots were two closeups of the Fresnel lenses of a lighthouse.

The processing involved too many steps to list here (PM me if you really want the gory details), but the basic trick was to duplicate each square crop, flip one of them, then combine the four resulting pixel layers using luminosity and vivid light modes at low opacity. The rest was just straightforward contrast and color enhancement and sharpening.

Very cool, Richard. I'm slightly bothered by how the diagonals draw the eye to dead center. You might consider a crop that makes it less symmetrical. Or not.

Looks like you had some fun with this :D Reminded me of when I looked through a kaleidoscope. I didn't even get dizzy looking at it. Had to inspect every part of it to see what was in it.

    Thanks guys, much appreciated.

@Cornflake: I see what you're saying. I tried a few crops but TBH, I didn't find one that I liked more. Please feel free to edit it yourself and post any suggestions. thumb.gif
