Yellowstone

I have had these cottonwoods in mind to shoot for a couple of years and finally arrived when they were in full fall color.

The day was stormy with constant changing light.

Slough Creek area

Probably would love them whole lot more from my home monitor, but they are fabulous! Especially #2 and #3! Great light, kind that makes any photog's day! Cheers!

Nice set. I like #1 & #4 best. However, on my monitor, the highlights seem a little "hot". I've got to get to that area in the Autumn.

I love the comp in #2 and the golden light on the hills and grasses in the last one.

Beautiful photos all! I too like the Dramatic light of #2, Something about #3 that grabs me though. The only thing that throws #3 for me is that tree Smack Dab in the middle of the image. I'm trying to figure out how to crop in a way to not lose the serenity of the entire scene that you captured. Nice work.

Nice use of light and shadow from the stormy weather. Just remember, a crummy day in Yellowstone is still a better day than anywhere else.

Shawn, I wasn't to happy with the tree in the middle also. My poor excuse is that I was hurrying to capture the tree, light and Bison and didn't take time to check my composition.

Here is another with the tree off center, but no Bison.

Thanks Steve. Yellowstone is one of my most favorite spots to shoot. I try and get there about 2-3 times a year for the last 10 years or so.
