Interesting composition, Don. I like your PP work as well.thumb.gif

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

Unique POV and thus composition... you've taken a common (in your area) subject and given it an artistic, dramatic look.
Love the sky and the conversion too - nice tones!

Michael, Tom, Eric, thanks for the kind words. I took this yesterday morning. I spent a lot of time on the shots I thought might be really good, and they weren't. This one, hand-held and taken without much premeditation, was the best of the day. You never know.

While I like the shot a lot (POV, textures, comp all very good) I'm going to be a grinch about the processing. It looks way too flat to me. You could get a lot more drama out of it by lowering the white point considerably and raising the black point just a bit. Of course, I am very fond of high contrast B&W, and I realize that not everyone shares my taste.

Well seen, in any event. thumb.gif

Thanks for the suggestion, Richard. I didn't want to lower the white point because I was already clipping highlights, but I boosted the contrast with an s-curve approach and it does have more impact.
