I photographed this in the tropical butterfly event at the RHS Wisley gardens last week.

In spite of the coloured guide, I am not totally sure of the species. The underside of the hind wing lack stripes. Together with its very slender abdomen, I think my difficulty may be due to it being a male. Anyway, for the moment, I am calling it Lycorea halia cleobaea.

Well, it makes a pretty picture on the lotus-like flower.

I have a number of other, similarly coloured, butterflies stil to sort out but some are of the Tiger Longwing, which this species mimics.

EM-1, Kiron 105mm, twin flash, hand-held. Bottom left of image cropped for composition.
