I've been overhauling the section of my site that I use for finding new weddings to photograph. My current one, in my signature here, is basically one LONG page. Granted it's a lot, but I ended up booking up 2015, so I must be onto something. Most of my clients are either Doctors or Doctorate candidates, as well as software engineers. Basically, folks who like to read. A lot. Almost every single one of my clients said they liked how I spelled everything out.

I felt it all needed better organization, streamlining, and I wanted to bring even more samples into the mix without making a burdensome front page. I also wanted something that people get to what they needed to right from the front page. I also wanted something that works on mobile.

After a few weeks of working on it, I literally just finished writing the last page. My wife, and my mother will now comb through it to find all my horrendous spelling mistakes. Please keep in mind I'm not a writer... If you see anything misspelled, or find I'm using the same phrasing too much, please let me know.

Anyway, feel free to tear me apart. All criticism is considered, if not always immediately acted upon.

My new wedding photography section.

PS: thank all of you who've helped me modify my site over the past few years, and especially Sherlock Photography for the Tabbed Pages.

    Not bad at all!

    I think you have a good mix of words and photos although I guess I'm like your family members - somehow reading through all of that text isn't going to happen. The key factor though is whether your prospective customers will read that page.

    My initial reaction is that there are a lot of words in one place.

    I really like the Unique as Snowflakes section, a very good way to showcase your work.

    I was thinking that too after looking at it on mobile. Thanks for confirming! I'll take a look at redesigning that and improving the flow.

    OK, I redesigned it a bit to break up the text blocks. I added a couple of quick slide shows, and I moved the tabbed block up a whole section. I added a 1:3 image below that to draw users down the page.

    Thanks for the input Denise. I wish I could give you more Reputation points but I already sent some you way and it won't let me add more.

    Oh, and thanks to the previous poster. I appreciate the kind words.

    Your site looks great! My only concern would be the text color in the sidebar, it's hard to see/read the text as shown here:

    I've tried to sort that out but can't seem to figure how to make the color change without effecting the rest of the page's text. I agree with you though. I guess I should start a new thread looking into that.

    You could change the font color of the right sidebar as follows:
    /* Change the right sidebar font color */
    .sm-page-layout-region-body .sm-page-layout-region-center .sm-page-layout-region-body .sm-page-layout-region-right p {
      color: black;
    }

    That did the trick. It also changed the body text as well. I may experiment with that more. Thanks!

    Quick update so it only touches the photo/gallery titles and not the body of the text:
    /* Change the right sidebar font color of gallery/folder titles */
    .sm-page-layout-region-body .sm-page-layout-region-center .sm-page-layout-region-body .sm-page-layout-region-right .sm-tile-title {
      color: black;
    }
