Pastel Mono

This was taken as the sun was setting over Mono Lake. I am always moved by soft pastel landscapes, and this one did not disappoint.

    Beautiful colors and arrangement. I kind of prefer the shot in your gallery with the outcroppings on the right against a convenient break in the clouds behind. All those shots from Mono Lake in your gallery are amazing, though.

    Nice shot Dan looks like it was a calm sunset by the look of the water. Makes me anxious to hope I have some of the same luck. I will be in that area towards the end of the month heading towards Vegas.

    That's the one! Even the direction of the clouds seem to follow the contours of the outcrops. I watched a documentary about this area some time ago and it mentioned how it is slowly disappearing as water is slowly returned to the lake. Hope I can get to see this place before those damned environmentalists destroy another man-made disaster(joking):D
