Two Miner Bees, Andrena spp.

These are the host species of the parasitoid Bee-flies photographed at the same time on the same flowering current bush.
Neither bee was there for more than a few seconds. For the first, the only angle of view through the foliage was from directly above. For the second, I should have focused a little more towards the head end but you can see what the bee looks like.
There are 67 species of Andrena in the British Isles, many quite similar and others variable, such that it is difficult to identify them. All I can say for sure is that these are two quite different species. Many nest individually in holes they make in the ground, a few nest communally. Concurrently with photographing these, there was at least one minute, volcano-like excavation in our lawn.
