Vivitar 2x Macro Focusing Multicoated Teleconverter w/Nikon N/AI f-mount. Glass is clean, focus is smooth. The barrel is a bit beatup, but function is still good. No caps but I do have a soft case with it. Asking $35 shipped & PP'd in the lower 48.

Another price drop in OP. Last drop.
Come on, no one wants to play with a macro fine focusing 2X tool?

Just for the sake of my ignorance, why not explain what this thing can do for a macro lens. It obviously has fine gradient adjustments, but when I think of tele-converters I think of longer distances...so how does this differ?

Tom... I have very little use with this rig since micro/macro is not my forte. But I'll get some PICs up with it.

To the best of my knowledge it acts like a 2x TC with fine/macro focusing ability. But I'll do some w/wo shots using a couple lenses to show its abailities, learn a bit more about it myself and maybe help others to know what's out there and how this toll can be used...

Thanks for humoring me~ I finally found enough info on it to qualify it myself. You're right about it's fine focusing ability.

It takes a basic lens, for instance a fifty 1.4/1.8 prime and turns it into a macro that will render 1:1 magnification. It also doubles as a std. tele taking that same prime and doubling it's focal length to 100mm. From what I read and gather it is a wonderful Cheap-mans macro converter~

    Seems like a neat piece~

If you have a macro lens, I would be interested to see a resultant photo with/without.

    Thanks~

Seymore, Did you use it with your Nikon lenses and body? Cause I found that my Vivitar series 1 one my D700 on manual doesn't register very well... Just curious if its ever worth giving it a try with my Nikon Macro lens

I've not used it since macro is really not something I'm into. But if I find time this week, I'll try to get a few shots with it.

But as of this typing, payment is pending.
