[RESOLVED] Account Locks

Mod Edit: Logged as SmugBug

was trying to connect to my account dietrichmd.smugmug.com via
Star*Explorer and got the following results back:

< ?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1"?>
< methodResponse>
< fault>
< value>
< struct>
< member>
< name>faultCode< /name>
< value>
< int>1< /int>
< /value>
< /member>
< member>
< name>faultString< /name>
< value>
< string>invalid login (account locked)< /string>
< /value>
< /member>
< /struct>
< /value>
< /fault>
< /methodResponse>

I have engaged Nikolai's help, but he's getting identical results from
his machine when trying to connect to my account. We were using login
with password method to avoid the potential hash problems.

I can login to my website via browser normally.
Apparently the other people can use Star*Explorer normally too.
Can somebody over Smugmug take a look at my account?

    On this issue
I verified many, if not all, possible reasons - ssl, hash, connection, old exe, bad local data. Seems like a pure server issue, not much we can do on the client side. ne_nau.gif

Andy, can you let Don know? Or whoever who can trace login calls?

I can be reachable by email most of this day if you need my assistance to debug this issue..deal.gif

Just trying to get our mutual customer back up and runnning...

    Guys,
I can't help Dietrich on my own! ne_nau.gif
There is something on the server side.
He can connect anonymously, but smugmug.login.withPassword returns an error code, hence no session, no hash, etc.
    Anybody? bowdown.gif

It says I'm not worthy (not priviledged enough:-) to submit a bug ne_nau.gif

Here is the text, please submit it on my behalf!
Smugmug and Star*Explorer customer (dietrichmd.smugmug.com) gets "Account locked" response when trying to loging via Star*Explorer.

    Anonymous login works (duh).
    Web-site login functions OK.

Situation was 100% reproducible from my own machine with the identical results.
Other accounts seems to operate normally, the pertinent code has not been changed for a long-long time.

    API version used: Production 1.1.0
    URL used: api.smugmug.com/hack/xmlrpc
    Account: dietrichmd
    API used: smugmug.login.withPassword

Hmm. 2 weeks and still nothing. While I can still login from the website, I cannot login using star explorer. One of the reasons I use smugmug is for excellent customer support, albiet from dgrin here. I also use it for its featureset and price, but support was one of my main concerns in the beginning, mainly because I hate dealing with large corporations.

Is smugmug beginning to operate like one of these larger corporations? I realize that with a large number of users, it is difficult to respond quickly to every problem...but two weeks is stretching it. There has been only one or two replys to my thread from SM people, and thats basically an exchange between Nikolai from StarExplorer and SM.

So I beg, again, please help me out with this problem. I am losing time sitting here waiting for an answer to what should be a simple problem. Im gonna give it a while, but I cannot wait forever for this to be fixed.........

Just to add to your point, as I mentioned before, I tried your account from my computers, too. SM Server's response seems identical from any machine. No other account, from what I know, currently experience this API-related problem. ne_nau.gif
