OK, I know about 3 people (at least) that are doing happy-jumps right now :giggle

Theme of this challenge: RINGS (pretty straight forward, right? / Let me or Matt know if you have any questions)

CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE GALLERY

or go to: www.smugmug.com

login: DgrinExtras
password: knockknock

Then go to: Wedding Challenge • 01/2011 • Ring in the New Year

From there you should be able to upload a pic, but let me know if you have any questions (see top right corner / UPLOAD > TO THIS GALLERY)
When you upload a photo, please name it with YOUR NAME, or your nickname (I need to be able to contact you, if you win, so don't make it too hard, haha). Please do NOT upload full res files as I can't take any responsibilities for it and don't want the photo to end up in the wrong hands. Feel free to put your name on the photo.

Once we announce the winner, you will receive a 1st / 2nd / 3rd place badge :D

The CUT-OFF date is January 31st. Matt will then have time to choose the 3 winners and announce them by February 3rd :barb

Let me know if you have any questions.

:lust

There are 2 entries per person allowed this time around (Thanks Matt!!) + please make sure the long side of the has a MINIMUM of 1200 res.

Let's go!!! :lynnma

Just wanted to say thanks to those of you who included your EXIF. Definitely helps learn how you got such awesome photos (beyond your amazing talent). And helps me decide if I'd be better of buying a true macro over using my extension tubes.

Thanks Heather. BTW, those sample images are supposed to say " doesn't have to be a macro" and "non-typical is good", just in case people miss my subtleties.

Some awesome images up there already for sure!! There are some images in the gallery however, that are under minimum res so please 2x check the size of your files before you upload. Sorry if I am being a nag about that but this is going to be tough to judge. Not to imply sharpness is always key!!! In some shots it will certainly be important though.

If anyone is worried about posting an images of that size, please just post what you are OK with and pm me and we will figure something out. If you replace images be sure to rename them so I know who's image it is.

You did fine Chris!!! If you pass your mouse over the displayed image a little window comes up on the right, click on the "i" button for info and you will see the resolution of your photo. Angie right now has the gallery set so it won't display extra large images and that is fine for now as long as the res is there. I will hit her up to allow a larger view when I am ready to go through them critically. You are fine with what is up there. The only one that isn't up to snuff is the ring on the rose shot from LizK.

For the record, the reason that my sample images aren't sized right or including exif data is because I was out of town and had to ask Angie to cut and paste from a gallery. If she is willing to re-order the gallery and delete the current versions I will happily replace them with proper images. It didn't occur to me that they would display as they did when I had the idea to give her a cut and pasteable gallery.

Don't forget to include your names on these people... :) like I love the doggie one, but all it says is "fun shot at an e-session" no idea who took it! So cute!

Also 7 and 8 in the gallery have no names either. (I'm guessing Qarik maybe?)

Why do I always wait till the last minute to enter? At least I didn't forget this time!

Enjoy the sharpness, Mmatt. (I noticed your comment about wanting 1200 pixels so you could check sharpness. Laughing.gif!)

(The 2nd image is from a D70! Loved that camera...)
