This is one of the best written features I have read in a long, long time. And it is far more powerful on-line, where it combines all the elements of "traditional" print journalism, with the best of the digital age. Don't miss it.

Exploring the desert
Really good. I think this video exemplifies the power of the still, ironic and enjoyable. The still photo shown during audio is great. Doesn't hurt that the photos are excellent also. True multi-media presentation that is not just the glitz of some new software or technology.
