Tutorials

Ever find yourself wondering just how someone managed to create an image using different effects?

Here are three simple tutorials we hope will encourage you to try something new.

The Hot Seat

A lifelong interest in landscape photography has led Eyal Oren to make a study of his adopted hometown of Marblehead, MA. As you can see, his dedication is paying off!

Africa!

Dgrinners Harryb, Pathfinder, and others joined Andy Williams and Marc Muench on Safari in East Africa recently. Here are some awesome threads to check out!

At your suggestion I gave the simple navbar another shot, and still couldn't make it work. And now, after applying the simple nav code and promptly removing it, my CONTACT ME link is acting goofy. I'm far enough in this that I don't want to backtrack too far. Would you mind taking a look at my code and specifying exactly which lines need to be altered to take out the unneeded background-images? That's all I'm after.
First some corrections.
Remove the red from the top of your CSS.
Code:
 CSS: #my_banner {..
add red comment tags in your CSS
Code:
gallery_24490996 .myTitle { /* About Me (Morgan) */
...
On your about page in the description make the red changes

<div class="myPhoto">
<img src="/photos/2036700104_xDnsM9J-S.jpg" height="300" width="200">
</div> <!-- closes myPhoto div -->

Where do you want your navbar? At the top or bottom of your pages?
I'm also getting some network image load errors. Not sure what it means.

Thanks! I'm not at my computer at the moment but I will try the changes asap. And I do want the navbar at the bottom. All the code I used I found somewhere on dgrin.

Thanks, Al! I made the changes and that really helped clean up my About Me page.

The little image errors have been the bane of my website's existence. I've tried removing/adjusting different parts of my code to get rid of them, and just wind up going backwards. If I could replicate what I've already got- especially the Contact Me link, which took forever - minus the image load errors, then I'd give that a shot.

It's been several days since I had a reply; did I successfully stump both Al and Eric? I didn't think it was possible!
