These guys live in the Arctic and come down our way during the winter.

They are little guys, about half the size of a Mallard.

They fly at what seems 70-100mph!

The way they land is hilarious to see. They fly close to the surface of the water and when they are ready to land, they just stop flying and drop. When they hit, they bounce several times, splashing everywhere. :D

These have all been males.

These are some of the females.

The males you can tell from the long tails. The females don't have the long tail.

I urge you to Google Long Tail Duck sound. They sound like squeak toys.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
