Is anybody else getting intermittent shutdown errors with Internet Explorer when accessing their Smugmug URL? I only get these errors with Smugmug.

What is the error? Take a screen shot and post the error. I get IE errors all the time, it kinda goes with the territory :D Adobe Acrobat causes all kinds of IE errors when you close pages, there are also many other plug in products that cause this problem. Let me know what the error is and we can go from there, my guess is its not SMUGMUG specific, but we wil get it figured out

I get the exact same shutdown errors only on SmugMug. I thought it was just my computer.

    Bob, et. al.:

I've asked JT to look into this, and reply here. Thanks for your patience.

FWIW, I'm unable to reproduce the errors, in IE6, on your sites. I asked another person here to do it too, he couldn't reproduce.

    Stay tuned...

Have you installed all the latest patches for Windows? I know its a hassle, but the dll file appears to be corrupt.

Look at this from Microsoft. They have a fix.

I have never seen this error. It could in fact be the mshtml.dll file OR one of the plugins you are running. There is a way to turn off plugins in IE temporarily - perhaps you can do that and try using the site to see if that fixes it. Look for Internet Add Ons in the Tools > Options menu.

Thanks Joe, I did an update like you suggested, and so far IE has not crashed.

    Hi Bob,

And that's why, I couldn't reproduce, either. I'm on auto-updates for my Windows software.

    Glad you are sorted!

Start by disabling your plugins like previously mentioned. Also is it the exact same error?

I am receiving the same error as described above... I use ff, but several friends told me they've been having problems as of recent viewing my smugmug galleries so I tried IE and sure enough it crashed after viewing a few pages.

I haven't changed the customization or anything on my pages in a long time, so I suspect it's due to an IE or smugmug update???

    anyway???
