Watermark on Original Images

Hello All-

So I have been working on my watermarks again. You know like I do every four years or so whether I need to or not.:D

Anyway I am getting a little stumped and finding some difficulties. The first one I already filed in Uservoice for making watermarks proportional like printmarks but with a minimum size. Yup, I know I can say easy code, from the cheap seats but I realize it probably isn't when applied to billions and billions of images.

The next thing that has me stumped is can one under the New SmugMug (how long do we call it new?) make a watermark show up on the original as well?

Some of these limitations are making me think of using Lightroom instead to do watermarking which kind of defeats some of the purposes of using SmugMug Pro level stuff.

I don't know of a way within smug to place a watermark on the original image. If you want a watermark on the original you will need to watermark the images yourself before uploading to smug (and to turn watermarking off in smug).

We also don't watermark your originals because the original files are what we use to create your gorgeous prints!

Denise is correct -- we keep the original as your original, so when you ask us for it back, or if we send it to the print lab, the watermark doesn't get sent with it.
