I am working on this trip....any advice is welcome!

Friday - NJ -> Charlottesville Virginia
Saturday -> Charlottesville to Roanoke Virginia on the Blue Ridge Parkway
Sunday -> do 140 Miles on the Blue Ridge Parkway...not sure where I will Stop
Monday - > Blue Ridge Parkway and End in Asheville Tenn.
Tuesday - > Asheville to Nags Head, NC
Wednesday -> Nags Head to Cape May, NJ
Thursday - > Cape May to Home

This is an impromptu trip and my goal is to get 50 great photos, make a book, sell it and donate any profit to my kids school system....

I have been researching for the last two weeks and I need to do this via my car and I need to head south because of the weather....I still have some time to work on the itinerary...thanks for reading.

David

So many options on a trip like this. You have a half dozen caverns along the way that offer great photo ops. Charlottesville has so much charm it could fill up more than 50 pics within the town limits. Of course you have the lighthouses along the route home from Nags Head.
Be sure to stop at Monticello along the way. The gardens are incredible (although not sure about this time of year).
The Natural Bridge is a great stop. The initials of George Washington on the rock can be captured with a nice 200mm lens.

Some great shots along the BRP.

I like your idea to capture 50 photographs as a part of your journey. Be sure to capture the spirit of your shooting locations as well--some people shots as well as the landscapes.

Most of all, have a great time thumb.gif

    Nice idea/jesture for the school....

    Are you going by yourself???

Make sure to take plenty of batteries, and cards... I'm sure you will be coming back with thousands of picture's, I know I would.... So many beautiful sights how can anyone resist.....

    Some ideas -
    Along the Blue Ridge Parkway:
    • Blowing Rock, Chimney Rock and Litte Switzerland are cool places to visit.
    • The town of Blowing Rock is very nice, good place to spend the nite.
    • Near Roanoke, look for Foam Hendge
    • Natural Bridge is interesting, but not necessarily worth the price of admission.
    • If time permits, a visit to Biltmore Estate is worthwhile. Spectacular!
Look for hang glider activity while in Nags Head.

Lots of cool fishing activity at many of the shore town docks.

Consider taking the Cape May - Lewes Ferry if possible. Both towns are very picturesque, and the boat ride is a nice change of pace.

    Sounds like a great plan!
