Thanks to one and all. ...and David, let me know if you ever want to shoot in the Great Smoky Mountains NP and I'll be happy to meet you (or others) there. I am always looking for an excuse to shoot there - never get enough of it.

These are really well done, Dixie! Welcome back to DGrin - I've enjoyed the other threads you've posted in the past couple of days as well. I live in Charlotte these days, and get to the Blue Ridge Parkway and Great Smoky Mountain NP frequently - we'll have to meet up one of these days.

We almost visited there a year ago, but it was one too many vacations for us that year. Still on our list of must sees, though. Thanks for the invite.

Just let me know when. I camp most often while up there - I have both tents and 31 foot travel trailer.

    David,

Same applies here. Have trailer, will travel.

Where all have you shot at GSMNP?

    Cades Cove
    Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail
Middle Prong Little River (old timber rail bed, etc.) near the Institute at Tremont
Elkmont (old recreation village being renovated)
    Clingman's Dome
    Mingus Mill
Oconaluftee Mountain Farm Museum and Village.
Southern End of the Blue Ridge Parkway
    Balsam Mountain Road
    Cataloochee
    etc.

Love it love it! Like how you started with the footprint to tell the story and each one sure speaks -- i think! each one captures a mood but I think 3 and 4 are my favorites because of the mood. And the heron is quite nice too!!!1clap.gif

Thank you very much, Eia. Actually, all the birds (all two of them) are pelicans in these shots, but to thank you for the kind comments here are a couple of herons.

Your 4th and 6th shots are awesome. I love the progression from sand to sea to sky.
