At a city park. Criticism is always welcome.

I like everything about this. The starbursts from the sun, the palm reflections in the water and the gate partially open that says welcome and the warmth bouncing ever so slight on the beams. The rich colors are gorgeous and true to the Valley! :) I bet it was only 95 degrees! ;)

Works for me. Looks like a place I stayed at in St Pete along the intercoastal.
    Very well done.

I really love these heavy columns in silhouette. I wouldn't have had the eye to create this rich composition. Well put together!

Thanks very much. "I wouldn't have had the eye to create this rich composition." It's entirely learned, not innate. Part of my summer's homework has included studying books on composition. If I hadn't, it would never have occurred to me to frame the shot this way.

In addition to the lovely composition I also appreciate the exposure. You captured such nich detail in the shadows, but it dosn't detract from the trees/sun subject. Isn't great that we can always learn new things (re: reading about composition)?

It is, Sara! As for the exposure, it's a three-shot HDR merged in Lightroom.
