Juvie Black-crowned Night-heron

Taken last week @ Monte Vista NWR in Colorado with the Nikon 80-400 walkaround. Of course, he bolted as I was setting up the big rig . . .

    Very nice one, and I agree that the eyes on this juveniles sure jump out at you.

    Thanks, guys, for having a look and for commenting. When trying to set up the tripod, he and four of his siblings (?) bolted across the pond :-/ Still, so good of him to hang around for a snap . . .
