Log-In Problems & Uploading & Color Effect Issues Today

Are others having problems uploading? I'm getting a message that there's a "problem" with HTML5, but when I try to switch to any other uploaders, there's no way to choose photos. Also, I've had trouble with Log-In for several days now. I have to keep logging in, during situations where I never have to normally. I'll need to log-in multiple times during a session on SmugMug, even when I'm not trying to access the control panel or anything else. For instance, it'll happen when I switch to another gallery, etc. When I first arrive on my site, I'm often not logged in anymore either, even though I always am, and have the box checked to "'keep me logged in".

One last thing all day today (this was not a problem in other recent days) is that "Color Effects" on a single photo is not working... i.e. the photo doesn't even show up in the boxes that say "original" or "auto color", so I just have to give up & go back to the gallery as there's nothing I can do. This is a lot of bugs for one day. I'm on FireFox (the latest) with Vista. Parts of the site have been slow as molasses in January tonight as well.

Can you try another browser, like Internet Explorer on your computer?

What addons / extensions do you have installed in Firefox?

In the Firefox options > privacy section, what setting do you have set for the history option? Try temporarily changing that to "use custom settings for history" and below that, make sure that both cookie checkboxes are checked and "keep until" is set to "they expire".

Then clear your browser cookies and cache. Close and reopen Firefox and login again.

If you still have an issue, contact the HelpDesk with your details so we can assist you directly.

I did all the things suggested. I did try IE as well, and it doesn't seem to have the issues I listed. (but I hate IE & don't want to keep using it!) Weirdly, after doing the suggested things, FireFox worked well for awhile. Then I started having the same Log-in problems. I can usually upload or co color effects now (although I have to go through a couple extra steps to upload, and always need to log-in again) The main frustration is that I keep needing to re- login, something that's never been a problem. I don't have any new addons or extensions, just the same old ones I've had for a long time. I guess I'll try the Help Desk & see if they have any ideas.

I get this message also with the HTML5 uploader. "There's a problem with the HTML5 uploader, try
Simple". Yet can't click on the links to switch. This has been going on for awhile. Maybe after last
    update of FF.

I've been having some login problems, and the FB uploader is not working. I've tried Chrome and Firefox. I get to the screen where it says to pick a gallery or create a new one but the dropdown to select doesn't do anything.

Publish to Facebook currently doesn't work. The issue has been reported to our QA team for further investigation. I'm sorry for any inconvenience.

If it's the case that Publish to FB doesn't work at all right now, a note to this effect really needs to be placed in the "Pulish to FB (new BETA... or whatever)" thread. People who've posted to that thread will want to know & will then see it.

Do you have any slideshow added via advanced customizations on your homepage? If so check if there's an update for the slideshow code you're using.

If the problem persists, I'd recommend that you contact us at the HelpDesk with details, like a link to your site and what operating system and browser version you're using. Do you have any addons installed in your browser?

This problem was happening at the same time as the weeks-old Log-in issue that has just been fixed (for most people anyway), so you may not have trouble with it anymore. A lot of people were having HTML5 Uploader problems during the Log-in issue. But yeah, if not--- look into your slideshow.

Although I've not had problems with log-in since I updated my slideshow code, I just had a problem with uploading. (I haven't tried to up load anything for over a week or so, so I don't know if this is a new problem or not.) I created a new gallery and it took me about four tries to get it to accept images for upload. No error message, the images just wouldn't load (I'm doing the drag and drop method). I clicked on the "I'm done uploading" button and went back to the gallery and then tried to upload and after about four tries it finally started uploading.

    Kathy,
Email the HelpDesk with details if the issue happens again so we can investigate further. Include what browser version, uploader and operating system you were using along with a link to the gallery you encountered it on.

I'm still constantly getting log in issues. I occasionally have uploading issues as well.
