    Brett, I think you did a great job here. When I look at action shots such as this I try to assess whether I can sense the intensity and emotions of the subject captured in the shot. Also I check to see that the subject is captured in focus. In my opinion you accomplished both here. Might be just me but I find the wave action behind the subject in the #4 to be very complimentary to the action and would have left the entire wave "flare" in the crop. That's just an opinion and not a critique of the quality of the shot as it stands. The varied colors in the pictures are impressive.

    Great shots, and I agree with Wayne - leave the rooster tail in! That would make the shot a lot better, in my opinion.

    Great timing on all these shots, though - very nice action and concentration by the surfers!

    yes, that's how it was taken. the surfer came in and I didn't zoom out quick enough with the 60D and old 100-400 "pump"
