On June 11th, I met david_s85 for the reverse commute 40 minute train ride into Chicago and subsequent hike from Union Station to Cloudgate or,"the bean". We met up with Ann, Jason and Nick. They've posted their shots long ago. Here are a few of mine from that night.

Everyone must touch The Bean

Some must photograph The Bean

The city of Chicago has a lot of green space, here's some near The Bean

I wanted a pano. I was hoping for fewer people. I shot this hand held. I think it's eleven images, the security guard was in six of them!!

We moved on to Buckingham Fountain

and finally to the Adler Planatarium for more panoramas and fireworks.

It was great to meet some dgrin members and to wander about Chicago with everyone. Let's do it again!

Hey, nice pano's! Is the 11-shot Bean pano two rows?

BTW, the second posted shot isn't showing up for me.

That pano started as a 3 shot landscape, then I decided that I'd not included enough overlap (& sky)...so I filled in the gaps..then a couple more because I lost track thinking I could remove the security guard. Basically, really poor execution. And that made putting it together unfun.

Awesome set! I love Chicago and I love that bean. I always think it looks like a huge blob of mercury that just fell downtown.

Glad you got to meet up and have a little shootout of your own. From the accounts I read it does sound like it was a great time. thumb.gif
