Flash based portfolio? When?

fashionfashion Registered Users Posts: 8 Beginner grinner
Just about every site is now offering flash type widget of their portfolios so they can be taken and posted on myspace or plugged into our own websites.

Will smugmug ever offer this type of widget or a flash based presentation? The HTML/Ajax is nice but it still can't rival a flash version.

Please add this functionality, it can't be that hard!

    Did you place the script between html tags in your bio? All your code looks ok.

    Copied - Pasted the everything in the wiki from the beginning html tag to the closing html tag right into to the bio box and then updated the AlbumID and click link.

    Any need to delete code for existing slideshow?
    I would like to update my homepage with the new flash version. Do I need to delete any of the code I inserted for the old slideshow or just insert the code for the flash slideshow per instructions?

    Are you now running it in the bio? I think you need to disable the old footer
    script if you're putting the new SS code in the bio to be safe.

    I put comment tags /* & */ around mine in the footer code to disable.

    /*
    <script ... >
    ...
    ...
    ...
    loadslideshow ()
    <!--<b-->********
    */

    Flash Slide Show in Konqueror?
    This slide show is pretty cool in Firefox and Internet Explorer, but doesn't seem to work - at least on my system - in Konqueror. Has anyone else been able to see the slide shows using Konqueror (the KDE browser)?

    Is this a problem with my browser config, or with the slide show?

    I'm running Fedora Core 8, 64-bit.

    Thanks!

    I'm new to smugmug and customizing. I followed the tutorials for the hompage slide show, and it works. I do have a few issues. (1) Intially it shows the "loading" bar. (2) I can not get the border to work and (3) the photos in my slide show seem to be off center. www.mdelano.com.
    My apologies if this has been covered before.

    JS errors in the slideshow
    am getting JS errors in IE7 and IE6 when i use slideshow (SM.flash.insertSlideshow)
    I get error if i navigate from the slideshow while it is running.
    (while slideshow is running - try close browser _or_ click any link _or_ refresh the page and you will get the error)
    Error i get is:
    <WBR>
    Line: 53
    Char: 3
    Error: Object required
    Code: 0
    URL: http://www.photomitic.com/
    <WBR>
    Same is happenning to other websites as:
    http://www.moonriverphotography<WBR>.com/
    or
    http://www.photoscapedesign<WBR>.com/

    which make me believe it might be problem with your script that is calling the slideshow.

    to view JS errors in IE7/IE6 enable JS error notifications:
    (tools>internet options>advanced>Display notification about every script error)

    I'm having problems with my slideshow. www.stinkyfeet.biz. I changed things up a little and created a new gallery called Front Page. This was to be my slide show. Copied the albumID to the Bio but can't see it on my home page.
    Any suggestions

    Don't see your bio, is it in your control panel under the homepage tab? Click
    "show" to move to your homepage if it is.

    The script is not running and getting an error. Try adding a space after the colon in this.

    AlbumID:'5232064'

    AlbumID: '5232064'

    bio slide show
    is there any way to have the thumbs that are below to be on top of the slide show?
    the tutorial seems to only show how to get rid of the thumbs on the bottom, not move
    then to the top.....

    This could be done by adding small html5 slideshows behind the banner.
