Is there an on-site pricing option for those of us who live nearby? i.e. including everything except transportation to Skyland.

I go to Skyline drive every year the weekend of/before or after Oct. 19th. Maybe I'll see you guys tramping around Big Meadow, but I can't join you all, gotta work after two weeks in Canada/Glacier. :)

Hope you all have a great time, it's gorgeous and you've got a chance to see bear, deer, and all kinds of critters besides foliage and lovely skies.

Please send an email linked in the details page, and we'll explain what's up with that.

I'd be curious about this as well since I don't live far from there.

The answer is: the gold of this workshop comes from the time we spend together both in the field and in the hotel/car, etc. This being the case, the only cost that's close to being optional is the first night of hotel outside of D.C. If you make arrangements with us, we can knock off $100 for that. The rest of the time we require that you stay with the group. Keep in mind, though, that for that $100 reduction, you are losing some time with the group, and some value, in my opinion.

Hope that helps.

Contact me for specifics via the email link on the details page for the workshop. Thanks!

Wow, I really, REALLY wish I could take part in this... but I have neither the funds remaining, nor the time off remaining, after taking the GS out west for fun & photos in the Rockies and the Pacific.

Too bad too, I -love- both of your work, and know I could learn a lot from picking your brains, and you'll be right on my doorstep.... the App Trail is 100 feet away from me, and I'm right at the top of the park...

Do This Again!

But, just in case, are all the slots booked up yet?

Dang...would love to go, but I'll be in Zion/Bryce/Page during that time. Being fairly new here, though, I do have a question or two. How often do outings such as this take place, and is there a calendar of some sort for pre-planning purposes (or is it just a case of checking the board to see if anything is coming up)?

Congratulations John Dolan for signing up for this workshop

Unlike many other workshops, Shenandoah is unique in that we can take photograph within walking distance of our rooms. As you know each year brings different Colors at different times based on the particular weather paterns, but in Shenandoah there is so much variation in the elevation that we can chase the color around the park if need be. In addition there are waterfalls at most elevations

Cheers
Marc

I'm in the process of putting a smaller photography gathering together with a few friends in the Greenbrier area of West Virginia in late September, but if the boss will allow me the time off, I'm up for this too!

This is only a 3-4 hour drive for me, and I'm ticked that I had to miss the Utah workshop a while back. I will be really ticked if I have to miss this one (not because it filled up before I could commit of course ;) ).
