I apologise for posting this in the code help for new Smugmug - I just noticed it should have been posted here.

I was working on my site and made some sort of error - it is now unresponsive - I think it is in a loop of some sort. It opens and the slideshow that is supposed to open does so. But it does not respond to menu or any other commands, cannot be modified or anything.

I did email Smugmug Hero help and got the usual acknowledgment; am waiting for response.

This is a real disappointment, I had hoped to get it open this holiday weekend !

I LOVE the new Smugmug and don't feel this is Smugmug's fault - I made some sort of mistake trying to get back my logo - I was trying to get the slideshow as big as possible and lost the logo; the loop started as I was trying to get back the logo.

Has anybody else had this problem ? ? ?

Thanks for reading. Bill Wilson (gbear) http://billwilson.smugmug.com/

    Hi Bill,

I received your ticket and have resolved it to prevent any confusion. Your slideshow was set to have negative margins that were making the slideshow box overlap the buttons. We fixed that for you and you should now be able to use your site again.

I hope this helps. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask, we are always happy to help.

    Best Regards,

Christine - thanks very much. Yes it does work now.

I am struggling to get the largest slideshow I can and still have room on the left for adequate instructions. I had a (very helpful) post from another member and was surprised to see his recommended margins included a negative margin. It had not occurred to me a margin could be negative !

I evidently overdid that! I am not entirely certain what controls move the slideshow image UP in the screen; that is move the block upwards. I think I already have the image as high in the block as possible. I need the block as high as it can go, and the image as large as it can be.

The reason is that I use an iMac and a 23 inch screen, and the site looked fine. I looked at it on a slow small screen Dell and it looked awful - the images were to small to see. What I have now is OK if I can get the image higher on the screen.

Thanks for your patience and help. I emailed you about your site, if you remember; I did not know you were a Support Hero. - Bill Wilson (gbear) http://billwilson.smugmug.com/
