Hi,

After being a reader of DGrin for many months, I have finally decided to register.

I took some wakeboard pictures while on a boat trip with some friends, here are two that I really like:

I think this might be my favorite from the gallery. Why? Faces, faces, faces. Many of the shots are so backlit that the faces and muscle definition are so shadowed as to be unviewable. You got some good action, but I'd suggest that when shooting sports, to still keep in mind that we like to see people. I'll add my welcome to DGrin!

I also like this one a lot. However, its not always best to see that close for these kind of action shots (we don't see the board nor any wave/water/splash).

I know about the backlit shots and agree with you. I created the gallery to share the picture with the guy on the board and wanted him to have as many picture as possible. I choose the backlit pictures that were not too bad (some were a lot worse!). I also tried to get the boat driver to always drive toward the sun but it was not always possible.

This was my second time taking these kind of shots and the result is a lot better than the first time. So at least I am improving!
