Decided to take the back roads home today from work and this guy was nice enough to hang around and pose.
This one is a heavy crop. He was keeping an eye on me

Thanks for sharing these--one of my favorite animals. After burrowing owl populations seemed to plummet in the west a few years ago, it seems like the numbers have gone up. Maybe drought favors these owls?

Could it just be that they relocate to areas that happen to be more accessible when their is a drought? Like irrigation ditches?
