DSS 108 - Sunrise over the Atlantic
So my wife and I and 20 of our closest friends went camping on the beach this past weekend. On Saturday morning I woke early and took the dogs for a walk on the beach. The overcast sky and the sunrise made for some very... interesting... lighting, and there were plenty of fun things to photograph. I tried to make the water the main subject in each, and break out of the "beach-ocean-sky" thirds photos that I usually take.
So: here goes Gone for a Walk 1a) ![]() 1b) ![]() B&W landscape 2a) ![]() 2b) ![]() curling waves 3a) ![]() 3b) ![]() Waiting for the Wave 4a) ![]() 4b) ![]() HDR 5) ![]() I hope this isn't too overwhelming a thread... I like each of these pictures, in a different way... which says "water" to you the most? Which is better composed? I really do like feedback and appreciate your input.

Thanks kentwaller, I pushed the HDR as far as I could on that one. The best perspective was from about 9 feet so I held the camera up over my head.

2a says water the most to me. 5 is a nice photo, but the structure stands out as the subject and I forget that the water is there.

I'm still working on these, I've got another version of 5 entered now but I'm still debating on whether to go with an all-ocean shot that fits the theme better.

Accused Shill.

A good title for 4a is "You can lead a horse ..."
I like that image a lot because it's not something you see every day. |

I agree with Mark. The horse one grabs my attention.

So, the question really is, WHERE did you find horses sunbathing?
