I really like the second shot. Love, love the color. IS this a real artichoke? I had no idea they looked this way. Unusual.

Thanks, Eia. I think I like the second one better as well.

It's real and I didn't jazz up the color. I saw one flowering years ago in British Columbia but we'd never grown artichokes before. They were great to eat and this was a surprise finale.
