Paypal Donate Button?
Hi there fellow photographers,
I have a smugmug power account, if it does matter. I take pictures, thousands of pictures, from running races in Greece. Hundreds of people, with my permission, download these pictures for free, and i am very happy that for some time now I've been useful to them. I have though about changing my "policy", and asking a fee to let runners download their photo, but I have rejected the idea. So i am thinking the middle road there. Still posting thousands of pictures per race, with a big resolution for free, thus creating a big traffic to my galleries, and then putting a paypal donate button, which of course would be completely optional. I think some people will appreciate my effort, and support me. I already receive dozens of good comments, and some people (thinking in the races that i am a full time pro) ask me were they can BUY the pictures. I tell them, you just download them for free.... I dont expect or hope to make any living out of it, but it would be ok if I just can support my hobby a little bit. So is this PAYPAL DONATE button feasible in my smugmug page? And if it is, can I put it only in certain galleries? Thank you in advance for your answers, |

You should be able to add the PayPal embed code to any gallery description or photo caption. Just make sure to enclose the embed code within html tags like this:
<html> embed code </html> That should do the trick. If you want to add it to your whole site, you could do that via the control panel > customize tab > advanced customizer. Paste in the code into the custom header or custom footer (depending on where you want to have the button show). Don't include the html tags mentioned above in this case.

Thank you very much.
I would like to add for any other reader of this thread, that in order to center the paypal button (and dont have it appearing in the edges of your page) at the paypal html code that you paste -you take that from paypal-, put in the start <div align=center> and in the end </div> It took me 1 hour to find that... It might be helpful to someone |
