jQuery
Can we use jQuery within our SmugMug pages?

If so, does SM already have a jquery library on its server(s) or do we need to load it from Google?

Thanks.

Our system uses YUI, but you can load jQuery from Google. It does interfere with some of the site features though. The only thing I can think of right now that it affects is the photo packages if you have those set up.

Thanks. Do you know how it affects packages? I don't have any set up yet but I am considering adding some.

You can't select to purchase a package if you have jquery loaded. It breaks that function.

Well that sounds like a dealbreaker then. I'll have to choose between jquery and packages. I have to learn jquery for work and was hoping to be able to use my SM site to practice a bit after hours.

Why is there a conflict between packages and jQuery? jQuery has only two main global symbols (jQuery and $) and one can be disabled with a work-around. Usually these things can be worked around if the source of the contention is understood.

I honestly haven't looked too close at the conflict as i's been a pretty small corner case of people both wanting to use jquery and packages. And removing the jquery call always fixed it.

Hello,

I'm having this same issue. I've loaded in jQuery from Google CDN and noticed that my packages stopped working. After removing jQuery, this fixed the problem. However, even placing jQuery into noConflict() mode like someone was mentioning above didn't fix the issue. I would really like this looked into in more detail as it seems strange that this would be the only function to break because of jQuery. There must be a work-around. Any suggestions?
