start menu
dont like the weird start menu ?

Launch REGEDIT and browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer.
Double-click RPEnabled, and change it from 1 to 0 or 2

now Metro is gone and you have normal start again

I clean-installed one and upgraded the other. Like I said, I knew what I was getting into. :-)

If you don't like the new start screen, use Win7. That registry hack removes more than just the metro start screen (like the new task manager).

That looks cool. I'll pass, because I'm not a developer, and I wouldn't know what I was getting into

Do yourself a favor guys or gals, upgrade to Windows 7, it is more mature and stable that that piece of garbage called Vista!

Actually, we all should can Microsoft products and install Ubuntu instead, however, I don't think Adobe products run on Ubuntu

On my new PC (running Windows 7)I went ahead and installed Open Office, let us see, Microsoft Office Ultimate, about $400, Open Office Free.

Just my 2 cents (My wife won't let me spend more)

Joe

PD If you decided to move to Windows 7 from Vista, do yourself a favor and do a clean install, do not do an update from Vista!
