DSS101 - Texture Options
We had some nice weather over the weekend, so I had to get out. Needless to say, there was texture everywhere! Titles are still a work in progress. Any suggestions are welcome.

I really like numbers 1 and 4. I wonder what number 1 would look like as a mask layer over another image?

I really like numbers 6 and 7. Effective juxtaposition of textures and subjects. The low key exposures work fine for me - they actually make the plant/weed leaves stand out! Very cool.

#7. It's got nice light and the textures on the timbers are really cool.

I love #1. Would like to see it sharpened with a bit more contrast to see if it brings out more detail.

I really like #1 the best...visually interesting, unique take on theme; I like the "inner glow" feeling you created. GP

Thanks for all of the great feedback! I am still torn. I like all of them for different reasons.

Sandi, I tried upping the contrast and sharpening to bring out the texture, but I was not satisfied with the results. I may play with it some more tomorrow, but I am not expecting to have much time.

#6 and 7 are blackberry vines growing up an old railroad trestle. The last sunlight was catching the leaves. And I really liked the contrast of the green and the black of the creosote (sp?) on the logs.

Here is a comparison of #7 slightly brightened. Better or not?

And here are a couple of others taken at the same time. Do either of these appeal more?
