The Hot Seat

A lifelong interest in landscape photography has led Eyal Oren to make a study of his adopted hometown of Marblehead, MA. As you can see, his dedication is paying off!

Here's my comments...

1 is not visible.

2. Nice image of her. One point...you should not cut her arm off so that it magically appears entering from the bottom of the image. Not keen on him showing no affection here...why is he looking away?

3. Kinda strange the way the he's holding her elbow...wasn't he ever happy. Nice image of her.

4. Are you really thinking that the frumpy front of her dress and her bulging out of her undergarments is something that she'll rave about.

5. Like this one...I think you need to tone down the college sign...it's a bit bright for the image. Actually, it's looking a bit over exposed overall.

6. While this is a nice image. Neigher look happy...he has that I'm never going to smile, stoic look. She has that well, crap...let's get this over look. Here arm looks awkward...wouldn't he put his arm around her...with him being taller, that's the way it should have been.

My comments aren't meant to be distructive...just food for thought when you're taking images. Taking a good picture and being a good photographer are two completely different things. The hardest part of taking portraits...and being a photographer is knowing what a good picture should look like...and the same goes for post processing.

Thanks for the feedback all. These are the first batch from the session, and they are SOOC. I will post other (better) images when they're done.

I probably should have waited until I had completed, delivered images before posting. My bad.

Here are my favorites from the rest of the title session. Again, please feel free to CC.

1. The prerequisite, and requested, newspaper shot

2. Probably my favorite shot of the session

3. Same shot, playing with textures and BW conversion

4. Cute, cheesy shot the bride requested

5. Candid

6. Different crop of previous porch shot
