Taken circa 1922; my grandmother with my father on her lap, and his brother (George), and sister (Florrie); George joined the Royal Navy, was stationed in Hong Kong when it fell to the Japanese in 1941, and spent four years as a prisoner of the Japanese; he died last year (2008) having had the hardest life, but he outlived all his generation of friends.
