Here are three simple tutorials we hope will encourage you to try something new.

The Hot Seat

A lifelong interest in landscape photography has led Eyal Oren to make a study of his adopted hometown of Marblehead, MA. As you can see, his dedication is paying off!

Africa!

Dgrinners Harryb, Pathfinder, and others joined Andy Williams and Marc Muench on Safari in East Africa recently. Here are some awesome threads to check out!

It's all about the eyes!
This is my third shoot with little Michael...he was so incredibly happy today, showing off a set of amazing peepers.

I'm obviously enamored with the contrasty colors, high key bws and vignettes lately. C&C welcome, as always.

1. used a reflector above his head to block the sun, produced some pretty even skin tones in harsh light!

2.

3. another hi-key silhouette type shot...too noisy?

4.convinced the Mom to try a photo shoot bath...don't knock it til you've tried it!

5. I can't decide if this expression is adorable or "deer in headlights."

Thanks for looking!

great pics lynne-

for whatever reason, the bw pics seem to work better than the color-

although, I like all of them-

binghott's right, #5 is a classic-

Adorable shots Lynne! I agree that the B&W's are awesome. I'm kinda liking #4 myself, but they're all good. The skin tones in #1 look a little off...looks a little gray from the neck down on my monitor. The 2nd one looks good. Nice job overall, and he sure is cute!

These are very well done. I love your B&W conversion. #5 is cute but I'm with you, is this cute or deer-in-the-headlights. I'm not sure either.

These are great shots! I love the contrasty colors and vignettes too. I'm sure the mom is really happy with these. Good job! (Isn't it a fun shoot when the baby is sooooooo adorable?)

My 2 cents
1. I think that it would have gotten raves above and beyond had you posted seperate from 3.4.&5. It is vibrant, rich, and excellent facial expression.

2. I don't particularly like what is going on behind the chair with the wall/colors, but the baby was certainly hamming it up.

3, 4, 5......well it has all been said except that to me they look timeless......and could have been from another era or an era yet to come......I like that !!!

1. again....I wish that he were wearing a more traditional button front shirt in a solid color so that the BW treatment you gave the others could render it timeless as well. Don't take that to mean I don't like it, only that I would have liked to seen this as you treated the others.

Excellent lighting on all.

#2, 3 and 4 are lovely. Good looking baby.

I actually like #1 too probably because green is my favorite color. :/

#5 is my favourite - for the b/w and the face!

#3 (the high key) is lovely and not too noisy at all!
