Here are three simple tutorials we hope will encourage you to try something new.

The Hot Seat

A lifelong interest in landscape photography has led Eyal Oren to make a study of his adopted hometown of Marblehead, MA. As you can see, his dedication is paying off!

I have a friend who thought her camera was malfunctioning; a quick look at the exif makes it far more likely to be user error, further confirmed when she mentioned she's shooting automatic everything. She needs to learn about the exposure triangle (particularly shutter speeds!) and I'm running out of ways to explain it. Have recc'd the Understanding Exposure book, but does anybody have any good links/tutorials online for explaining this?

Thanks in advance!

One could always read a book about exposure, but I did see this link on line, courtesy of Nikolai

http://camerasim.com/camera-simulator/

Wiki is here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photographic_exposure

Photo.net -> http://photo.net/learn/basic-photo-t...tterspeed-iso/

From dgrin itself - http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=64258

And starting with the basics, sunlight and sunny 16 - http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=30235

From CameraPorn.net -> http://www.cameraporn.net/2007/12/24...-of-threesome/ Who could resist that title??

The prettiest from Cambridge in Colour -> http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tut...a-exposure.htm

That ought to get your friend sorted out

Perhaps it came from our user, "oakfieldphotography.com" (Patrick):

Thread is here.

I'm just poking a little fun, but there are some additional simulations (not necessarily exposure related) in that thread that could help a beginner.
