removing / hiding navigation gallery description and nickname
Hello,

Is there a code to remove the gallery navigation breadcrumbs but WITHOUT removing the customization?

I found that the gallery navigation 'breadcrumbs' can be removed in the security and privacy setting in gallery settings, with 'hide owner' option, but that also removes any other customizations done.

However, I only want to remove the navigation breadcrumbs...

Yes, you can remove the breadcrumbs - but if you're going to remove them I highly recommend adding something in the gallery description to identify the gallery.

See Are you really sure you want to hide the breadcrumb? Think of your viewers! If you decide you still want to remove the breadcrumb the code that you need is at the end of the first post in that thread.

Thanks for the quick answer, great link with lots of info there. I have removed it for now, but indeed it could help with some description there, rather than having it all removed, so I might add a description...

The reason why I want it removed, is that I find it to possibly adding confusion, and a visitor getting 'lost', in all the links and sub-catogories or galleries above the thumbnails (in smugmug mode ).

Now, I just nocited that when clicking on a link in the navigation bar to go to a gallery, that once one is in the gallerypage, the link in the navigationbar ( of that gallery ) is not highlighted anymore. This highlighting-of any of the links in the navbar - is what I would prefer to let a visitor see, to know where one is at the site.

Is there a possibility to keep a link in the navigationbar highlighted once one has clicked on it, until one goes/clicks on another page/link ?

JFriend has a customization in his Collection of javascript customizations that highlights the current navbar entry. See # 21 for that customization.

It would be easier to provide help that is specific to your site if you would include a link to your site. Please add it to your signature or to your profile here. To add it to your signature, click the clipboard icon in the navbar above, then Edit Signature.
