The Waltham Watch Company is defunct. They went out of business in 1957. Today the building is fully occupied with mostly office space and some light industry. Between about 1855 and 1900, Waltham Watches were the most accurate watches in the world. They were the pride of many a railwayman. Abraham Lincoln owned one and had it with him at Gettysburg.

Waltham watches are very beautiful and today people collect them avidly.

This was taken by John Cote and posted on FM last fall in response to an earlier watch factor image of mine. (BTW, this just happens to be the same guy who gave the advice about using a second-curtain fill flash for panning.)
