Not as sharp as I would like, but I think I discovered the sweet f stop for my 300/1.4 tc combo, and this isn't it.:rofl This was f5.6, and I get much sharper shots at f/8-11, and with a flash. So, next time.:D

Shutter speed was too slow. Iso 800 would have done it at f 5.6.

Shutter speed was plenty fast especially with IS and ISO 640.

No it was not, as evidenced by the blurred image.

You only had 1/800 on a leap..you needed much more.

and here is the same EXIF without a leap, and still not nearly as sharp as it would be at F/8

You are comparing apples and oranges. My statement is true...period.

This image is muddy...lacks contrast and probably exhibits the results of some hand shake. It may be too far away.

I liked it better when you were ignoring me. You are a good photographer, but you are arrogant and self righteous. You are so sure you are always right, and you are not. Goodbye.

    How so?

I figured someone posting an image like the OP was looking for some help.

Now that can't be.... if I'M ALWAYS RIGHT. deal.gifrolleyesheadscratch.gifthumb

I know a guy who could shoot at 1/800 and get the shot without undesirable blur. Do it with one eye closed as well. deal.gifrolleyes1.gif

The problem for me is when they leap, they leap out of the focus point.

I don't care to get into a pissin' contest with either one of you .....but forgive me if I"m wrong.... doesn't that go to the point of operator error rather than too low of a shutter speed? If one was younger, faster, smarter, more handsome and more accurate on the draw......... ne_nau.gifwings.gifDthumb.gif

I was making a joke...of course it's me fumbling to get into place out my SUV window while driving on the wrong side of the road on a bridge over the interstate.

    Misinformation helps no one.

I'm serious...always serious. I have no time for a sense of humor.

speculation can't be misinformation...can it? That's all it all is...SPECULATION. I would be happy to rebut either side of this conversation in a court of law. Far as I'm concerned there are too many variables and or possible causes for this and it doesn't even have to be just one cause. Probably a combination of things...then again...this is conjecture ..speculation ....and a little BS thrown in for fun...oh wait. I'm serious now. You guys have fun figuring this out. I have to go wash my hair. ****humor inserted as head is shaved toatlly****

    I'm serious..

I was the one misinforming via a misunderstood joke...I hate the internet sometimes. If we were sitting talking face to face there would be no problem at all...I'm sure.
