Taft Point, Yosemite National Park, last Sunday:

    399849783_UBdrT-XL.jpg

On the short hike out to Taft Point, we passed a dead tree with a very hungry chipmunk stuffing its cheeks. Had to crop out most of the dead tree to keep the critter from being just a spec, but the bulk of the pic is still dead tree so I'm including it:

I'm pretty new here and also to photography in general. I've been lurking quite a bit and have to say this is the best thread I've encountered as of yet. These images are outstanding.

However, this thread has really made me consider the fact that I spend way too much time in the city and at the office and not enough time outside shooting. Very jealous indeed of you all. :(:

How do you guys find the time? Or maybe you've been shooting for many years and have amassed these pics over that time? Maybe a little of both. Either way, I need to shed the shirt and tie and dawn the tripod and camera!!:photo

    Found this
the other day in my local woods. It's a combination dead tree dead vine. It has fascinating twists and turns. Not really sure how to capture it correct yet but here are the first attempts.

This one's from a trip to Yosemite with a buddy a couple weeks ago. The dead tree in the picture is used by scores of Photographers as a place to sit, sometimes to stand, to prop up a camera, or just generally ignored while they're taking magical lighting pics of the "celebrity" in the background.

I figured that dead tree deserved its own picture...so here's my attempt:
