Wow! What a great setting in which to teach and learn. Your caption "Three Chimps" cracked me up hard! rolleyes1.gifrolleyes1.gifrolleyes1.gif

Also, how very cool to see the faces of so many people whose work I admire and enjoy. Thanks for posting these.thumb.gif

I love seeing the faces of the people that were there - some of whom I met last year in Utah. Your pictures brought a big smile to my face. Thank you for taking the time to share. iloveyou.gif

Nik, your constant photostalking paid off! thumb.gif

I'm really impressed with these portraits. I was actually regretful that I didn't take more shots of people with my "real" camera (although I have about 1000 point and shoot shots).

Your deer diagram cracked me up. As well as your image of the beargasm! rolleyes1.gif

Everyone looks so happy. I wished I could have been 3 places at once so I could have gotten the chance to shoot with everyone.

I liked seeing everyone's faces, even though I didn't attend. Brrrrr, it looked cold. It's been over 20 years since I've bundled up like that :D

Some of your captions are so funny too! And you really got some very nice candid portraits of the group. I look forward to seeing your non-people shots too.

Excellent! Some fun photos there, Nik.

Beargasm's hilarious, and the shot of Scott is beautiful.

I'm particularly proud with your portrait, since it look like it was easier to get a bear mug shot with 10-22 than yours with 100-400. mwink.gif

    Thank you for stopping by!

Yes it have been cold once or twice. Mountains, you know. The biggest issue was not even the temperature, but the houling winds, which screwed up a lot of my pre-sunrise shots (despite of extra 15lb weight on the tripod).

The non-people shots are coming, just need time..:-)

    Cheers! 1drink.gif

    Great shots Nikolai!

When I got home and started really looking though my pictures, I realized how disappointly few pictures I had taken of all the people I spent this amazing past weekend in Montana with. So thank you for posting this thread!

Nah... Travis would get all cavaliier on my arse, and considering he's a UNIX sysasmin and I'm just a lowly Windows programmer, I'd be at a total loss :D
Nice shots, btw, I like the three shadows!

    Great Portraits & PJ Work
These are great portraits, and I love the overall photo-journalistic quality of the set. You really caught what was going on. Since we were often off in a different direction, it's especially nice to be able to "catch up" and see the rest of the trip. Nice job. Thanks.

    ...add one more to this:

The 40D w/ 100-400 group (mike, bender, and nikolai)

(I felt so inadequate with my Nikon D70 and 18-200).

Too bad we didn't have Path and Kathy in this shot, then we'd have all 40D geeks... mwink.gifrolleyes1.gif

As to the D70... IIRC it wasn't even yours at the moment :-) :-P

    Thanks, Chris! thumb.gif

A lot of this is due to Shay's WPBC workshop I just attended. His thoughts and technique on shooting proposals, ceremony, formals and receiptions have a lot to do with these... bowdown.gif
