    I don't understand some of the titles. But it didn't really make any difference to my voting. I voted on whether I liked the picture and would hang it on my wall.

    once upon a time the Titles were part of the entry,

    which ones did'ntcha get? maybe the photog will chirp in....??

    Whilst I doubt mine was one of the pics referred to in post 6, in general I reckon it's a bit daft using a title that 'gives the game away' when the remit is to produce a scratching that's not immediately identifiable :)

    I agree that the title shouldn't give the game away. The one I was referring to was #22. "typical male" which was paul's. Also 9 Faux all the way. , 31 Twenty-two US and 35 Warrior

    These wereamong my favorites mostly because I couldn't tell what they were and had to just decide if I liked it or not. I didn't even have to evaluate the photography skills.

    I titled mine Faux all the Way because there is little real about it. False over sat colors and though you might guess I was shooting stone, it is entirely dale, faux stone. thumb.gif

    Well, it was a spur of the moment thing - sitting, checking over my usual gear for next day's shooting, and glanced up at a dried flower sort of display thingy - which'd also got a couple of peacock feathers in the vase.

    My pic was of one of them - hand held @ 1/8 with a 100mm macro lens, room light + a bit extra from my bike front light. there was no way I'd get a sharp pic.

    Since the cam shake disguised the detail ... and I sorta liked the Nike style 'swooshes' ... I kept it.

    I'll leave you to join the dots between the subject matter and title :)

    Thanks everyone for your votes. It really cheered me up. It was a long time that I did not have any motivation for doing anything special that I like. Everyday try to catch up the daily work and deal with a three year old. Yesterday I wanted to pull out my hair as what ever I was doing or saying, he was screaming and ordering me to do something for him. So I slept early and could not wait for the result. My husband told me the result, but I did not have a chance to check it myself till now. It made me so happy rolleyes1.gif
    I and my husband (Cambyses) have a competition between ourselves too and we always compare our votes even if we do not win. Before these challenges, he was always saying that his photos are better. He was the one that gave me the passion to learn more few years ago when we bought our SLR camera. Before, everyone liked my compositions, but I did not know anything more than pushing the button. After that wherever we go we have fight over our SLR camera. He is reading more than me about photography and he knows a lot about cameras, lenses, and different techniques and whenever he learn something, he is telling me about it. I take it simple and he usually sets a complicated scenario for his pictures. We have completely different tastes even when we see other pictures. I am happy that at least this round he was between the top ones. I have to thank him too. This time he had to hold different heavy crystal bowls in front of blue and white senetti flowers while I was telling him where and how he should hold it. I had to take many shots as he was not able to hold his hand steady :)

    Absolutely thrilled. Congrats to my dear Memol (man, I am happy that is not her real name in life mwink.gif ), and to cbbr, SeascapeS, and to everyone else for great entries and for a fun challenge. I also very much appreciate all your votes.

    As for Memol's win, yes, I think I do deserve at least half the credit for having to hold some heavy crystal bowls in front of the flowers (and also in front of a gift wrap paper for some of her other shots) for like half an hour, making sure not to drop them (or else, that could have been a major blow to our relationship mwink.gif) and having to listen to her constant instructions to move it or rotate it in different directions until she could take the shots she was happy with.

    Looking forward to the food challenge now, although unfortunately our main DSLR (D7000) will be at Nikon repair center until later next week due to oil spots on the sensor. Perhaps we will try with our older D70 or our S95 P&S, or just wait for the next weekend.

    rolleyes1.gifToo funny! I'm sure my husband can identify with that! He's had to throw poker chips 50,000 times, hold dripping water for hours, pour milk over and over, etc.
