And I'm almost finished. Here's the site : http://www.ljsphotographyonline.com/

Need to upload more pictures and I'm done. Very big thanks to Allen and everyone else here at smugmug who helped me build my site. This sure it's a great place :)

Have a look, enjoy and all comments, critiques and suggestions of how to improve it are greatly appreciated.

I'm new to website construction and would love any and all feedback you might have for me on this site: http://noahburrell.smugmug.com/. The site is in its infancy and has a ways to go and your advice would help me get there.

Hey Guys,

A lot of great stuff here! Here is mine... I am a total newbie. New to smugmug, new to web design, new to css and html. Hardest part is trying to figuring out what I actually want. Been getting a lot of great ideas from this forum. smugmug help and this forum have been great. It is still work in progress. Still trying to figure out the best way to layout and organize.

Comments and critiques are welcome.

Fabulous thread...

This is a great thread, good to read suggestions about sites and view other's sites as well. Anyhow, semi new smugmugger, maybe about 3 weeks, would love some feedback.

Thanks!

Erin

Here's mine. I too am a very new smugger. This took 8 hours to do but I am happy with it. Working on my category's now.

What do you think about having a "everything wedding" category and then having subcategories of "bachelorette" since I shot one of those, "engagement", "bridal portraits", "weddings", "showers", and "trash the dress". Is that to many "clicks" to get to it or is it fine? I'm working on that change now just to see.

I am open to any suggestions. Thanks.

Hi everyone!

We'd love some feedback on our site!

www.blueslatecreative.com

We tried to keep it all simple and clean. I think it still needs some tweaking but we are almost there.

Your site is simple and clean, looks good.

Your Places and Autumn galleries aren't showing your customizations. Make sure that Appearance is set to custom, not default.

You also have Originals enabled in your galleries. That means that your images can easily be stolen. Set your maximum display size to X3Large, not Original. (Yes, I know, you have right click protection turned on. But that is merely a stumbling point, not protection. See http://blogs.smugmug.com/pros/2008/07/04/right-click-protection-and-image-security/.)

Thank you for taking a look and for replying! I made those changes, didn't even notice Appearance was set to Smug and not Custom.

On the homepage did you see the slideshow on a plain background or was there a black box around it? It's supposed to be plain but on my parent's computer (Windows XP with Internet Explorer) there was a black box. Don't see that at all with Mac OS X and Safari.

My simple site

I have my site set up for different visitors. My main site is for my son's High School Hockey team. This link only goes to the team pictures.

The rest of my pictures are on this link below.

I wanted to make this site clean and simple.
Comments welcomed.

I'd welcome some constructive criticism -

www.laurencecounter.com

I wish the theme I used was 'stretchable' and I think I'd like it to look even simpler than it does but I'd welcome any suggestions.

edit - I'm just fiddling with a custom Black & White Theme where I've removed the white lines and changed the colour. I will probably keep changing the colour for the next few days until I'm happy with it so maybe it's not worth looking just yet!

I think there is wasted space at the top of your home page. Maybe your name could be moved up to the top, this would move up your slide show a bit also.

I agree, it could move up just a smidge although I do like all the negative space around her name. Adds some nice "air" to it.

Nice logo, did you make that? Perhaps make the drop shadow behind your name a little lighter. I think the darkness competes with the dark blue in the lettering. Otherwise :thumb

I did tweak the logo in Photoshop, I found it on a free logo site somewhere. I agree the shadow is a bit dark. I will play with it a bit.
Thanks for the comments.

Hey all! I'm new to these forums and smugmug. With all of the great and helpful threads and tutorials I've found here, I think I have finally finished building my site.

I'd love any sort of feedback or critique!

Hi Joe. Welcome! I looked at your new site. You're off to a fine start there. You offer some lovely photographs so my only real suggestion would be to make your logo a bit smaller so the viewer gets smacked in the face with your images first (without having to scroll). Can't wait to see more of your work.

My site has been getting its annual update over the last few days. This year I decided to simplify, while still staying consistent with the logo I've used for the last few years. I kinda suck at coding, but I'm learning. Would love to get a few more eyes on the site to help me find errors and suggest things that might work better for my clients. Please have a look http://www.penrodstudios.com . Thanks so much.

Cindi
