A few from my garden

Last fall, before the dgrin shootout, skippy stayed with me a few days. She arrived mid September and we had had a killing frost so there was little activity in my garden for her to practice her new macro lens on. So, in remembrance of that and because skippy is currently under the weather, these are for her.

These fuzzy little bees huddle in the shasta daisies in the evening. I think they are babies, but as my husband points out, if they are babies why are they not in the hive?

Some kind of fly by attack - see the two insects OOF - they actually 'jumped' this guy:

Who knew that deer preferentially eat hybrid tea roses? :dunno

I love our two months of summer. Skippy, come on back one July - but then again my summer weather is just like your winter weather! so, maybe not that appealing!

Hi Ann, wow how many bees can you fit on one flower???
It's Winter here, but mum and dad are looking after me :D
So I can't complain, nice home cooked meals and being spoilt.

Love the red hair do on the little bird.

Thank you Ann, you have a great yard for hunting bugs and birds.
Looking forward to catching up with you and Daryl later in the year.

Get my stitches out on Friday, ribs are still amazingly sore, but I'm getting there slowly.... take care Ann :thumb ... Skippy :D

Nice images Ann. I have only seen this behavior with bees once and did get a photo. Looks to me they are the same kind of bee you have photo'd. Different from standard fair honey bees. My image also has 4 resting. Curious.
Is 4 some kind of on flower rule? :D I recently met a bee expert while in
California. I suppose he would know what kind of bee it is. I could ask if you
want to know also. Michael
