Hello all. Where would one go to have a Tokina 300mm lens repaired? after shooting about 4,500 images at a youth baseball tournament this weekend, mine went ka-put (Tokina AT-X 300 SD) ... :cry

It appears the focus ring (whatever you call the thing you turn with your hand when doing manual focus) is broken. Where I used to get resistance when I turned it, now it is as loose as can be ... My camera's autofocus has no effect on it at all either. I don't recall dropping it or banging it on anything. I just got it out and wanted to shoot and noticed that the focus no longer worked...

it's a great lens otherwise, and I'd like to get it back into my rotation ASAP... thanks all!

I should note that the lens is for Nikon camera...

Tokinas come with a one or a four year warranty IIRC.

I think Mack is the largest private camera/lens repair store in the US.

B&H and KEH both have very good repair departments as well.

The Tokinas have a rather odd clutch arrangement, so before you send it in make sure the clutch is either fully one position or another. (Focus ring either fully forward or fully back.)
