A few weeks back I got my first digital SLR and I've been loving it. The hard part though, is deciding what lenses to get beyond the kit lens when you are on a limited budget. I knew I wanted a macro lens, and after much deliberation, bought a Canon EF-S 60mm since it would work well as a portrait lens too.
I got up early this morning to test the lens. Thought I'd explore the yard a bit before work. Well, I never got further than the plants just outside the front door. Dew drops. Bumblebees. Flower buds. Ants. There's so much to do with macro!
And what a nice lens! I need more practice on my insect portraits, but think this flower shot might be post-worthy. Not truly macro, but maybe you'll forgive me on my first try. :D I resized it for the forum; no other post processing done.
