Continuing on....
On Tuesday we went on a catamaran snorkel tour. We were a little disappointed because the water was not as clear as when we snorkeled in Jamaica. The ocean had been very rough and I started to get seasick while in the water snorkeling. We only saw 2 turtles. Surprisingly, I saw my only rainbow of the vacation.

Views of the West Maui mountains were stunning as ever

That night we went to a surf party where the Go Go's played (remember the 80's

The following day (Wed) my husband played golf at the Plantation Course in Kapalua (where the Mercedes Benz Championship is played in January).

I had a rental car for the day and went cruising

First to Ioa Valley State Park which I thought was the most beautiful place I had been to on Maui.

I then drove back to the airport and went on a 1 hour helicopter tour of the island. Again the mountains, valleys, and waterfalls blew me away

On our drive back to the hotel we stopped in Lahaina, an old whaling village, for lunch at Kimo's. We ate right on the water and split hula pie for dessert (a huge piece of vanilla/macadamia nut icecream with chocolate sauce and whipped cream)

On our last full day in Maui (Thur) I got up and went out on an authentic Hawaiian outrigger canoe at 7AM. It was fun learning the Hawaiian commands but quite tiring paddling.

I spent the rest of the day relaxing on the beach or walking the 1 1/2 mile beach path and taking photos of the surf and flowers

That night we ate outside at the SeaWatch Restaurant at the Wailea Emerald Golf Course while watching a gorgeous sunset. I had the catch of the day special, Monchong (an exotic white flaky fish) served on a bed of mashed purple sweet potatoes and mixed vegetable.

When I hear Maui I think of Tiki girls! This looked to be a very awesome trip! Was the weather nice for your stay?

We actually had great weather - no rain at all where we were!!! We did pass thru some places where there had been rain earlier in the day. There were always clouds in the sky, some threatening looking, especially over the mountains. Much windier than we thought - the ocean was very calm in the AM and then around 10AM the tradewinds would really kick up and the surf would get very rough for the rest of the day.
